Fountainhead Supports Norcross Real Time Crime Center in New Public Safety Building
Fountainhead Control Rooms is proud to support the City of Norcross and its new Public Safety Building, providing custom consoles and technical furniture for the facility’s 1,600-square-foot Real-Time Crime Center. Designed to support dispatch, RapidSOS, Drone as First Responder operations and real-time situational awareness, the new RTCC will help Norcross law enforcement respond faster and serve the community more effectively.

Norcross, Georgia | September 2, 2026 | The City of Norcross officially opened its new Public Safety Building this week, marking a significant investment in the future of public safety for the community. Fountainhead Control Rooms is proud to have helped bring one of its most mission critical spaces to life: the Norcross Real Time Crime Center.
What Did Fountainhead Provide for the Norcross Real Time Crime Center?
Fountainhead Control Rooms designed and built the custom control room consoles and technical furniture for the facility’s 1,600 square foot Real Time Crime Center. The operator workstations will serve as the foundation for the room’s daily operations. The RTCC gives Norcross Police personnel a centralized environment for monitoring incidents, coordinating resources, and improving situational awareness across the city.
For Fountainhead, the console and technical furniture are more than workstations. They are the physical interface between the people responsible for making critical decisions and the technology they rely on. Every element is designed around the operator, supporting long-duration use, organization, visibility, ergonomics and the seamless integration of the equipment required to keep the room functioning.
Technology Supporting Faster Public Safety Response
The RTCC is part of a broader technology-driven approach to public safety in Norcross. Operators will work with information from multiple sources to support police dispatch and response, including RapidSOS, which provides 911 telecommunicators and first responders with additional information such as accurate caller location, medical information, connected building and alarm data, and vehicle telematics.
Norcross has already seen the value of that capability. In 2025, RapidSOS information helped a communications officer identify an emergency and dispatch officers before information was received from County 911, contributing to a lifesaving response.
The department is also expanding its use of technology to support its Drone as First Responder (DFR) program. Together, these capabilities are helping move public safety toward a model in which communications personnel and officers can access more information, assess situations sooner and make better-informed decisions before and during an emergency.
Inside the New Norcross Public Safety Building
The RTCC is just one component of Norcross’ new 42,252-square-foot Public Safety Building, which will become the new home of the Norcross Police Department and Municipal Court. Built at the former Norcross Library site at Buford Highway and Stevens Road, the approximately $27 million facility is the largest capital project in the city’s history.
The building was designed not only to support law enforcement, but to strengthen the relationship between the department and the community it serves. It includes a 2,600-square-foot community room, a 2,600-square-foot courtroom, an 850-square-foot fitness center and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Defense Tactics training studio. More than 4,000 square feet has also been left unfinished for future needs, giving the department flexibility as Norcross continues to grow.
That combination of technology, operational capability and community space makes the new facility more than a new police headquarters. It represents an investment in how Norcross will respond to emergencies, train its officers, engage its residents and serve the community for decades to come.
