Operator Out Control Room Design: Where Fountainhead Is Headed

We’re excited to share our latest video, a snapshot of where we are today and where we’re headed in the year ahead. More than a highlight reel of finished spaces, this video reflects how we think about control room design—from the inside out. It showcases the environments we create, the variety of markets we serve, …

Operator Out Control Room Design: Where Fountainhead Is Headed

Fountainhead Control Rooms is entering its next chapter with a clear design philosophy: great control rooms should begin with the people who operate them. Our Operator Out approach starts with operator workflows, sightlines, ergonomics, technology and human performance, then builds the environment outward around those needs.

Our latest video shows that philosophy in action across the mission critical environments we design and deliver. From public safety and Real Time Crime Centers to utilities, transportation, federal operations and enterprise environments, the goal remains the same: create spaces that help people perform when the work matters most.

What Is Operator Out Control Room Design?

Operator Out control room design is Fountainhead’s approach to creating mission critical environments from the operator outward. Instead of beginning with furniture, equipment or a predetermined room layout, the process starts with how people work, what information they need, how they collaborate and how the environment must perform under pressure.

From Control Room Furniture to Complete Environments

Fountainhead’s capabilities now extend well beyond control room furniture. Our team brings together control room design, operator consoles, AV integration, visualization technology, raised access flooring, engineering, installation and project management as part of a coordinated approach to mission critical environments.

By considering these elements together from the beginning, Fountainhead can align technology, workflow, ergonomics and the physical space instead of forcing separate systems to work together after decisions have already been made.

Where Fountainhead Is Headed

Fountainhead’s direction is increasingly focused on complete, integrated environments built around the operator. That means continuing to expand the way we combine design, furniture, technology, AV systems and project delivery into one coordinated solution.

The objective is not simply to put more technology into a room. It is to make better decisions about which technology belongs there, how operators interact with it and how every part of the environment supports performance, situational awareness and long term resilience.

As Fountainhead continues to grow, the Operator Out philosophy will remain at the center of how we approach every project: understand the people, understand the mission and design the environment around both.
